Extra-Curricular Activities

In line with the school’s mission to provide a well-balanced programme, Extra-Curricular Activities (ECAs) are offered to KICS students from Year 1 to Year 13. These activities provide students with opportunities to participate in a wide range of competitive and non-competitive sports, arts, and community service projects, allowing our students to explore non-academic passions and develop into well-balanced individuals.

ECAs run throughout the school year over two seasons/semesters; each season lasting between 12 to 14 weeks. The variety of ECAs offered differs from season to season, taking into account the weather in Khartoum.

Normally, ECAs are offered by KICS teachers or parents and occasionally by external coaches. These activities are usually an hour long and run from 2:30 – 3:30 pm Sunday to Thursday, with the exception of Golf, which is scheduled on a Saturday.

For more information about KICS ECAs, please contact the ECA Coordinator, Mrs. Jayasree Warrier - jayasree.warrier@kicsnet.org. Furthermore, kindly visit the KICS ECA Information Page and the ECA Guidelines.

INSTRUMENT TUITION PROGRAMME (ITP)
The Creative Arts & Design Department offers an Instrument Tuition Programme (ITP) at the Music Studio. Here, students are given the opportunity to take 30-minute musical instrument lessons with the instrument of their choice and specialist music teachers. The range of instruments is vast, including piano and guitar for Year 2 students and for Year 3-13 violin, cello electric guitar, acoustic guitar, piano, drums, saxophone and much more.

KICS TENNIS ACADEMY
KICS also has the KICS Tennis Academy run by Coach Elvis. The Tennis Academy started in September 2012 and has been a popular activity among the KICS Community. Lessons are offered almost every day of the week. The KICS community can choose to have individual lessons or group lessons. Sign up opens at the beginning of the season and participants are scheduled in by Coach Elvis according to the day/time of their preference and availability.
